Greetings All -

       As I sit to write this article to you we are in the midst of the season of Lent.  We are all making preparations to be able to celebrate how God continues to be at work in the world creating new life out of death.  In our tradition this happened most powerfully in the life, death & resurrection of Jesus.  During this time we are opening our lives to the Holy in such a way that we can be receptive to all that God has to offer us.
      I always think about how I can share some of my own faith journey with you, in a way that might be meaningful for you & help you in your walk with God.  Soon we will have enough traveling prayer shawls for everyone who would like one.  Hopefully they will serve as another tool, as another resource for you in your devotional life.  I hope that each one of you is seeking to be intentional in developing & strengthening your walk with God.
      I would like to share the following Nesting with you.  It is my hope that it touches your heart, moving you closer to God and to others.

THIS & THAT—
· We are taking applications for the Larry Fichter Memorial Scholarship, any seniors from the Griswold United Methodist church are asked to apply. Deadline to apply is April 15.  This scholarship will be awarded on Memorial weekend at the church.
· Sign up sheet for Sunday morning coffee is out once again, it is located upstairs on the table.  Money donated to the Sunday morning coffee goes to the Rainbow Covenant.
· You can order your Easter Lilies or mums until March 10^th.  This year the cost is $7.75 each.  If you wish to buy one, the sign up sheet is located upstairs on the table beside the steps.  You will need to write your name, what you wish to buy and who the plant is in memory or honor of.  Please mark paid beside your name and place your money in the box beside sign up sheet.  Thanks.
               
Good Friday movie night will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold, being co-hosted by the Griswold United Methodist Church.  We will be watching the Gospel of John, using the words from the NIV translation.  The movie will begin at 6:30 pm on March 29.  There will be popcorn, coffee, tea & cold drinks provided.                                                                                              
During this season of Lent we have been preparing ourselves to celebrate Christ’s Resurrection.  Here will be able to hear and experience the whole Gospel of John. Invite your friends and neighbors to join you for this meaning-filled evening.   We hope to see you there.
