THIS & THAT—
Come join us Sunday, April 21, for Camp Sunday. It will be a special service followed by a free will Potato Bar to help raise money for our campers this summer. Camps have changed over the years and now they are several days long with all kinds of fun activities. We already have a few kids wanting to go to camp this summer. Let’s make it a summer for them to remember!
Attention Class of 2013 –Stop by the church office and pick up your
application for the Larry Fichter scholarship.
You have until April 14 to apply.
The Church & Society/Missions Committee made it their mission to
incorporate publicity for “Imagine NO
Malaria” (formerly Nothing but Nets) at worship for each of the first
three Sundays of March.
Then following worship on the third Sunday, March 17, we hosted a soup
and pie lunch. This was a free will
donation, with the money made going to the Imagine NO Malaria campaign. We want to thank all the workers, diners and
supporters who helped make this event a success. We served 70– 75 people and raised $453.00. Watch for more upcoming events. You can donate to Imagine NO Malaria at any time. This is one of things we give to for our Rainbow Covenant giving each year. All you need to do is write on your donation “Imagine NO Malaria.” –Thanks again, the Church & Society/Missions Committee.
The Community choir is having a Cantata again this spring, it will be on Sunday, April 28, at 2:00 pm, here at the Griswold United Methodist Church. Please come join us for “The Family of God –a Gaither Celebration.”
You are invited to an Open House celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Lloyd & Lucille Bergstrom Saturday, April 13, 2013, 1:30 –3:30 pm at the Griswold Legion No gifts please. Your attendance is our gift.
A big thank you goes out to those who remembered me while I have been
ill. All of your prayers, cards, flowers, phone calls and food has been very much appreciated.
It is great to live in such a caring community and have a loving church
family to support me when I need it the
most. --Jeanette Bergstrom

DWIGHT
WRITES
Greetings in the name of the Risen Christ!
By the time you receive this newsletter we will have already celebrated
that our God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead. And we will have proclaimed: Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! New life out of death seems to be part of
the ongoing work of the Holy. So often
this happens in surprising and wondrous ways, far beyond that which we think or
imagine. I’m so glad the we have
opportunities to get a glimpse of that in our shared lives of faith. Sometimes we even find words to say that will
convey some of that meaning to others.
It is my hope that this sometimes happens when sharing my Nesting
poem/prayers with you. I would like to
share one with you now, that I wrote recently.
I invite you read it slowly and out loud, if possible. It doesn’t have
to be loud. Let the words speak to you.
Blessings and Peace, Pastor
