“Good News, Great Joy”  On Sunday, December 22 during worship service we will be having our yearly Christmas program.   It will be put on by the Preschool thru Middle school Sunday school classes.
Following the program there will be a freewill soup & sandwich luncheon with Birthday cake. Please come join us as we celebrate this Christmas tradition that the kids work so hard on. There will also be a special treat for the little ones –someone in a red suit will join us downstairs.

 On Saturday, February 1, 2014 the Griswold United Methodist Church will be holding a special event celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the church sanctuary.
If you have any special stories or experiences that you would be willing to share please send them to the church.  We will use as many of these as possible as we put materials together.  Some will be used in the worship celebration on that day.  Others will be put together in a small booklet.  There will also be a DVD where we will hear some stories being told by current members and friends.

Our celebration will take place exactly 100 years,  to the day,  when the dedication was held back in 1914.  We are making plans for the day, so far we will have a worship service  starting at 10:30 am, with pictures being taken of those in attendance, then a noon meal featuring our baked potato bar. 
Then on Sunday we will do a large group picture, so plan on joining us Sunday too.  More information will be told in next month’s issue. --The 100 Year Building Committee

Ingathering 2013, Laura Amos and Pastor Dwight went to Greenfield on Saturday, November 3 with all the Thanksgiving ingathering kits we put together this year.   The kits along with money to ship them came to $1,053.00.    Here is a list of the kits taken:  UMCOR kits  —14 Health Kits, 4 Sewing kits, 35 School kits.  And INP (Iowa-Nigeria partnership) kits –14 Layettes kits.

 Since we are no longer putting up the Mitten tree for Bidwell –Riverside. The Morning Circle thought it would be nice to still collect mittens and gloves for the Elementary kids in our school district.  If you wish to help the ladies out - they have a box located in the main entryway near the elevator.  The box will be there until, December 8th after worship.

Come join us on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 for  Brian Hanson’s Christmas Concert.   This concert will be a wonderful evening of great Christmas music, lots of fun, and heart felt inspiration.
