VBS update:  on the money we raised for well in  Mali, Africa last summer. “Through our in –country partner and in country staff, we have identified two villages in the Bako Region of Mali where we will be digging wells and building medical clinics in 2015.  These villages are N’gola and Boughoula.  We will keep you updated as things progress, and will be sure and let you know which village your funds ultimately support.”.  -Global Partnership in Hope

I want to thank you for the cookie & fruit plate that was brought to my house.  It was very nice and enjoyable and greatly appreciated.  ~~ Vi McCullough

UMW NEWS:
·         Is there anyone who would be willing to help out with funeral lunches?  We need some back up people, men or women. This would consist of coming in the day of the funeral and getting sandwiches ready, cutting cake, making coffee, setting tables and then clean up. If this is something you would be willing to do occasionally call Bette Tye 778-2454. or the Church office 778-4178.
·         We have netting available for making scrubbers.  If this is something you can do, please help us out.  We only have a couple ladies who knit them and could us the help.

DWIGHT WRITES

Greetings,
I’m going to share with you two writings for your reflection this month.  On Wednesday, February 18 the season of Lent will begin and we will start again to move toward the celebration of God’s power and love made known in the resurrection of Jesus. Might these words open your heart to the Holy, as you make preparations.
“A cup is a container for holding something.  Whatever it holds has to be eventually be emptied out so that something more can be put into it. I have learned that I cannot always expect my life to be full.  There has to be some emptying, some pouring out, if I am to make room for the new.  The spiritual journey is like that — a constant process of emptying and filling, of giving and receiving, of accepting and letting go.”  ~ From  The Cup of Life by Joyce Rupp
The 2nd quote is from Mother Teresa as found in My Life for the Poor: “Once I asked my confessor for advice about my vocation.  I asked, ‘How can I know if God is calling me and for what he is calling me?’
He answered me, ‘You will know by your happiness.  If you are happy with the idea that God calls you to serve him and your neighbor, this will be proof of your vocation.  Profound joy of the heart is like a magnet that indicates the path of life.  One has to follow it, even though one enters into a way full of difficulties.’”
Blessing and Peace ~ Might Your Joy Be Complete,
Pastor Dwight
