Writes
The grace and love of God is given to
all. There are innumerable examples
throughout the Scriptures that lift up the love of God and point out how the grace
of God has been {and is} at work in people’s lives throughout the world.
The stance of God toward you is one filled
with love and grace. It’s not enough
that the Holy One looks at you this way.
God desires that you and all receive this great gift of God. The gift will not be taken away if don’t
respond. But, it also won’t make much
difference in your life, until you receive it.
And, once you accept the love and grace of God, you will begin to
respond. You will look for new ways to
grow, love and serve. You will discover
a stirring within that desires to put your faith into the practice of your life
~ the loving of God and neighbor. You
will also have a growing realization that this great love and grace of God is
not exclusively for you, but rather is for all of God’s creation.
It is my desire for you {and all} to grow
in love and grace in your life.Part of the work of the church is to help each
other, not only to experience the love and grace of God, but also, to help each
one of us to shape our lives, individually and as a community of faith, in such
a way that it will become clear to all those who see us that the love of God is
the guiding force in our lives.
I invite you be an active part of this
community of faith ~ the Griswold United Methodist Church. If you’ve been away for awhile, Lent is a
great time to return. If you’ve been
here for awhile, Lent is a great time to move even closer. Part of what each one of us can do during
this season of Lent is to prepare ourselves so that we are ready to receive and
celebrate this great love and power of God, displayed in the resurrection of
Jesus, that we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
Let us worship together.
Blessings and
Peace, Pastor Dwight
