Thanksgiving services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Wednesday, at 7:00 pm.  There will be a special offering for the GMA.

Hanging of the Greens will be  on Sunday, November 22, Janet Weaver and her girls are in charge of the decorating this year.  The Nuts and Bolts class will be in charge next year.

Building a Manger for Jesus --Starting early in November and continuing until Christmas Eve we will be building a manger for the baby Jesus.  Every time you come to worship, please pick up a blade of straw at the back of the church and put it in the manger at the front.  By the time Christmas Eve arrives we will have a nice place to lay the baby Jesus.
Let's have some fun as we make preparations to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child - one blade of straw at a time.

Malaria Update: In 2013 the Ad Council accepted the challenge to become a “Barnabas Church” and raise $8,500.00 for the “No More Malaria” campaign  in the next three years.  There is only 2 months left to reach our goal.
     In 2013-14 we raised $6,001.00
In 2015 we have given $1,936.00, we still need $563.00 to meet our challenge.
Can we do it?  That would amount to $ 62.55 each week or $281.50  each month.

A great time was had by all who attended the Fall Fun Day on Sunday, October 18th following worship.  The weather was wonderful and the fellowship even better.  We enjoyed hot dogs and brats on the grill, warm pretzels, chips, cookies, bars and all kinds of yummy treats! There were all different sizes of pumpkins to paint and glitter.  The kids had a great time running the obstacle course and were treated to candy and prizes.  I want to thank everyone who came, and I hope even more of you will come to our next event.- Amy Smith

Church improvements:
Stop by the upstairs nursery and check the room out.  Kyla Amos & Lisa Buchanan, painted the walls and then on Saturday, October 24, Kyla & Conlan Amos, Joe Rush, Matt & Sandra Leighton, Rich Witt, Jim & JoBeth Reynolds & Pastor Dwight, pulled up the old saggy carpet and put down new carpet tiles. It really looks nice. The Sunday school department will be purchasing a picture to hang in memory of Helen Brown.

DWIGHT WRITES

As we move into November we become aware of it being a season of Thanksgiving.  All those things that we have planted and tended in our lives are now bearing fruit.  We give thanks unto God. It is my hope for each one of us to be able to share in the joy of LORD, which is God’s intention for us.  I offer the following Nesting, along with 2 words of Scripture.  I trust that these words will speak to you. --Peace & Joy,   Pastor Dwight

Psalm 119:105  “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a lamp to my path.”
Isaiah 30:21  “And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left,
your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ “

Listen for the whisper of the Holy.

   Listen for the whisper.

     The whisper of the Holy
   is not easily heard
     in the midst
of the noisy clamor of life.

   Listen for the whisper.

     The whisper of the Holy
   is not easily heard.   ~

   In the midst
of the noisy clamor of life,
        the Holy
         will continue to speak
           in the quiet
             silence
               of the present
                 moment.

   In the quiet silence
       of the present moment,
         the sounds of grace
           reverberate through every love . . .
resonating with the realm of Mystery ~

      Listen. . .     the whisper. . .     the Holy
