Church Improvements
The church would like to thank all those involved in the ongoing project in fellowship hall. (I don’t want to mention any names for I would hate to leave any one out) Thanks to all those who did the wiring, tore up the carpet and hauled it off, painted, laid the kitchen & carpet tile, put the baseboard back and trimmed the wooden doors under the counter. It has taken several months to get this far and we have a few things left to complete. One of the things the trustees would like to do is get new round white tables and chairs for fellowship hall-more information to come later.
Another improvement to the church is the back entryway. Have you noticed it? Larry & Vicki Jones purchase a carpet remnant and painted the doors. It looks really inviting to those who us that doorway. Thank you for making the entryway people friendly.
Have you noticed the new door on the church to the west? It blends it nicely with the church. The Trustees hired Matt Leighton to install a new door this last month.
The last thing that has been done this spring is a refreshing improvement. The old water fountain by fellowship hall quit working a while back and Ray Wilson replaced it with a new water fountain this spring. So if you want a cool drink, stop by!
These are some of the bigger projects that were done by our church members and there are a lot of little things done that we take for granted. We couldn’t do most any of these things without you the volunteers.
When you became a member of the church –part of your commitment was: faithfully to participate in the ministries of the church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness. And this you have done. Thank you all for your commitment to the church in any of the above ways.
DWIGHT WRITES
Hello Church!
It was just over one year ago. Giving to the church took a significant turn. For a whole year the giving has been well ahead of the need. I’ve talked to several people about why this happened.
Each one of them said that giving increased when I extended the invitation to you to make a commitment to tithe [giving 10% of your income to the church] and to pledge to attend worship every Sunday that you are physically able. It appears that a number of you moved in those directions. Thank You! I heard from a few people directly, but I heard from several that there was much conversation. Let me renew that invitation and challenge. As each one of us shares our talents and our gifts the church will be strengthened. We will find ourselves stronger as well.
When each one of us gives out of what we have, a certain portion to God through the Church, an amazing amount of ministry will happen. There will be plenty. We will do much good and we will
continually discover that our lives have been strengthened.
It is always my hope and desire for you to grow ever more in love with the Holy One, and all that the Holy One loves -or-in the language of scripture that you grow ever more in love with God and with Neighbor.
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Dwight
